Isaiah One, a manual for raising kids does exist?

welcome

ISAIAH ONE
Paraphrased

We have often heard it said that there is no manual for raising children but, of course, there is.

God 'LIFTED UP' a nation and called them His children, they were disobedient. An obedient child is raised from infancy [trained] by it's parents. 1 Sam.20:30; Ezek.16:3-9. And here in these verses God shows us what befalls rebellious children who were not raised with discipline from infancy.

VERSE

2. The Lord nourished and brought up (meaning lifted up) children that were rebellious. The Hebrew word here is "lifted up" and not to be confused with "train" (which means, as in Prov.22:6, 'action from infancy'.

3. In this verse note he says, 'even the oxen and asses know their owners and masters'.

4. They are sinful, evildoers, corrupt. They've forsaken and provoked their [parent] to anger. They aren't rational.

5. Why should I bother to discipline them any more? They'll just revolt more and more. They are mentally ill and their understanding is sick.

6. The whole body from head to toe is without wholesomeness it's just wounds, bruises and putrified sores that have not been closed, bound or mollified with ointment. [The children were so lacking in understanding that they reared their parent and so could not go to Him for help and so He sent His son in such a way as to keep His children from fearing Him. A little child in a manger. Isaiah 61:1; Luke 4:18].

7. Their [homes] are desolate. Their [families consumed, with evil]. Their [mind, soul and spirit] are eaten away by foreigners (evil doers) and their ways, while watching [helpless, without realizing it's happening] and their lives lays in ruin. Over thrown by evil doers [those who advise them through life].

8. And the daughters of obedience are like a small cottage in the midst of all the rebellious, like a lodge among the cucumbers, [small and out numbered] as a city besieged are the obedient.

9. If it weren't for this small remnant they would have been judged as Sodom and Gomorrah.

10-14. Out of duty they sacrifice not out of love. [Insincerely pious].

15. I will not hear pleas and prayers from the rebellious. Your hands are full of blood. (Gen.4:10-11; Prov.6:17; Matt.30:28-31; Ro.3:13-15; Acts 20:26). [Rebellion is the same as witchcraft to the Lord. 1 Sam. 15:23].

16. Repent and be washed clean. Stop following or choosing evil. [Repentance from rebellion will bring a lasting divine healing that is followed by joy].

17. Learn to do well; seek to be just in all things; help the oppressed; defend justly the fatherless; plead for widows. (Doesn't sound too unreasonable).

18. Come let us talk honestly together, says the Lord, though your sins be as scarlet; I can make them white as snow; if you be willing and obedient.

Children are set aside so the adults can pursue fulfillment or because the parents are wrapped up in problems, drugs, alcohol or the lust for material things. These things become so important that the small little person in our care is being neglected.
