"For there are three that bear record in heaven. The Father, the Word & the Holy Spirit; & these three are one." 1 John 5:7,8

Christians sometimes have a hard time explaining their belief in the Trinity & I hope this will prove helpful. We are created in God's image (we also are made up of three parts), however, we're unable to separate our three parts: body, soul, spirit.

Ice*Vapor*Water

Ice_(Jesus)

Ice is here for a time in solid form; it melts & turns to vapor where it's carried into the air. Ice obeys the elements, hot & cold. Ice cracks, breaks & can be crushed. Ice can return to its original form, water, it's source of power.

"Yet a little while the world sees me no more..." (John 14:19) "I come forth from the Father...and go to the Father." (John 16:28). Jesus was carried into heaven. (Luke 24:50,51). "For I am come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of Him who sent me." (John 6:38; Luke 22:42). "Take, eat, this is my body which is broken for you.." (1 Corinthians 11:24). Jesus was arrested, betrayed, stripped, mocked, scourged & crucified. (Matthew 26:48,50; 27:27,31; John 19:1,17,18). "...the son of man..be crucified & the third day raise again." (Luke 24:7). "Behold my hands & my feet, that it is I myself; handle me & see; for a spirit hath not flesh & bones, as ye see me have." (Luke 24:39). "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit, & with power;..." (Acts 10:38).glj

?Ponder: Water flows from the rock. The rock is Jesus. Psalms 78:16; 114:8; Isaiah 48:21; 1 Corinthians 10:4.

Water_(God)

Ice melts down & becomes a transparent liquid which, reflects light, moves & flows. Creates life (without it all things would die). You can hear water even afar off: oceans, waterfalls, rivers.

God creates life. Genesis 1:1,2. He sends the "Word", the "wind", by Him water flows. Psalms 147:18. God controls all the elements. god calls Himself "Living Water". (Jeremiah 2:13; 10:13; 17:33; John 4:14. God's voice is described as sounding like many "waters". Ezekiel 1:24; 43:2; Revelations 1:15.glj

?Ponder: Rainbows & Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) are reflections of light bouncing off "Ice" & "Water". Baptism-immersion in water symbolizes washing away sin. Acts 22:16; 1 Corinthians 6:11 Hebrews 10:20. God divides water. Genesis 1:6,7. "For the Lamb...shall lead them to living fountains of water;...Revelations 7:17.

Vapor_(Holy spirit)

Water & melting ice evaporate & become mist, clouds, steam or fog. Vapor obeys the elements. You can walk through these vapors, be surrounded by them & breathe them into your lungs. They're always moving & can obscure the way, direction, path. Fog seems to hold secrets & mysteries. When the fog is dense it is silent, peaceful. When the fog lifts we can see to find the way.

"...he commanded the clouds.." (Psalms 78:23; Jeremiah 10:13). "...snow & vapor; stormy wind fulfilling His word;..(Psalms 148:8). Moses walked through a cloud & was surrounded by it in Exodus 24:15-18. And God breathed life into Adam in Genesis 2:7. "...The words that I speak to you, they are spirit & they are life." (John 6:63). When the fog lifts we can find our way. (Mark 4:11, 12). A cloud obscured Israel as they fled Egypt. (Exodus 14:19, 20). The Holy Spirit reveals secrets & mysteries to God's People. (Luke 2:26; 8:10; 1 Corinthians 2:7, 8; 14:2; Ephesians 6:19). God led Israel with a cloud. (Exodus 16:10, 11). Moses went into a cloud to talk to the Lord. (Exodus 24:15, 16) A cloud filled the house of the Lord (temple). (1 Kings 8:10; 1 Corinthians 6:19).glj

This is He that came by WATER (God) & blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water & blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is Truth. (1 John 5:6).
